Joy

We must have joy if we are to make it in this world. Joy sustains us and flowers always bring joy.

Beauty

I deeply value beauty, it is essential to creating a world I want to live in and creating beautiful things is how I show my love for others.

Humility

I do my best to remain curious and recognize that I always have something to learn.

Solidarity

I strive to live in solidarity with marginalized communities, even when the realities of capitalism make that difficult. I express this commitment through my mutual aid project, Flower Potluck; my use of sustainable design materials and methods; and my commitment to paying freelancers a just wage.

Truth

Truth is how I live into integrity. I do my best to share where my ideas come from and credit florists I have learned from or whose work inspires me.

Community

Flowers have taught me so much about community. They have so much power to connect people across lines of difference. Flowers are often guests for large community events and it’s an honor to participate in community by designing florals.
